Landslide Stabilisation WorkOwner: North Shore City Council Contractor: Ground Structures Ltd Design Consultant: Peters and Cheung Ltd Completion: 1 June 2005
Peters and Cheung Ltd has completed the design, environmental management and construction observation for a 140m long 4m to 7.5m high rock-anchor tied-back reinforced concrete soldier pile retaining wall for the stabilization of a large scale landslide at North Shore of New Zealand. A timber facing was used to allow the retaining wall blending into the natural park environment.
The Ashley Avenue Park was developed in early 2000’s for recreational sport field. Unfortunately the earthwork triggered a large scale landslide extending into private properties and the construction work ceased.
Peters and Cheung Ltd was engaged by North Shore City Council to design stabilization measure to improve the stability of the landslide allowing the completion of the sport field construction.
Our works included detailed geotechnical investigation, retaining wall design, stormwater and environmental control, construction observation and contact management.
During the construction stage, the park was opened normally to the sport field and horse riding users. |
